Health Canada Warns About the Use of Arthritis Pain 100

Health Canada has apprised the Canadian citizens for preventing the use of Tylenol Arthritis Pain 100 with red EZ-Open Cap.

Earlier this week, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration had instructed the consumers to stop the use of 100-caplet bottles with typical red EZ-Open cap that were being sold in across the country.

The manufacturer, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, has rolled back this product from market on consumers' complaints about unusual mouldy, musty or mildew-like odor which may be a cause of nausea, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea.

The recall had only affected Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplet 100s. As company does not have the license for its sale in Canada, this product is not found in Canadian Market.

The typical smell is due to the traces of chemical, 2,4,6-tribromoanisole, present in the medicine.

Though health effects of this chemical are still to be studied deeply, till date, no serious effects had been reported to the company.

Although this product is not available in Canadian market, still Health Canada speculates its entry in Canada either through travelers traveling across U. S to Canada or may be through online purchase.
