Recall of Meat Expanded Over Concerns about Listeria
Recall of Meat Expanded Over Concerns about Listeria

The recall of several of its deli products has been expanded by a Montreal based meat processor over concerns that they could be contaminated by Listeria.

The recalled products, all from the house of Olymel S. E. C, include cooked ham, bologna and mock chicken, among others.

This has been Olymel's second major recall within a mere two weeks, and has managed to put the company under the scrutiny microscope of critics and healthcare officials. On December 22, the firm had rolled back a range of similar products from the markets.

Also, these two very recent recalls have come after two other such developments which affected two Toronto plans.

All the deli items which have been included in the present recall have been distributed across Ontario and Quebec, and maybe even New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

The recall is being monitored by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and the company has confirmed that no illnesses have been reported so far.
