For the month of December, Sears Holdings Corp posted a slight rise in same store sales, mainly driven by Kmart, and the success has prompted the firm to predict that its fourth quarter profits might just manage to beat the estimates.
The firm, which has built a name for itself as a prime seller of affordable home improvement products, shared that it now expects to earn between $385 Million to $465 Million for the financial year's fourth quarter up-to January 30. On per share basis, Sears is looking to earn between $3.36 and $4.06.
On an average analysts polled are expecting a per share earning of $2.65.
Kmart same store sales for the month of December surged by 5.3%, and total comparable sales, on the other hand, hiked by 0.4%.
On Wednesday, shares of the company closed at $88.87 on NASDAQ.
