Morningstar acquires Tenfore System for £13.5 million

Chicago-based investment research provider Morningstar has Acquired Tenfore Systems Limited, for around £13.5 million in cash, or approximately US$ 21.0 million, subject to post-closing adjustments.

UK-based Tenfore, collects data on global equities, commodities, derivatives, indexes, and foreign currencies from more than 160 sources and consolidates the data for real-time distribution to clients. The company also offers front-end software terminals that leverage the company's market data, along with analytics and third-party application plug-ins.

Morningstar, Inc. is a leading provider of independent investment researching North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. The company offers an extensive line of Internet, software, and print-based products and services for individuals, financial advisers, and institutions.

The company has operations in 18 countries and minority ownership positions in companies based in three other countries.

The scrip of the company ended the day at $33.05 on Nasdaq, up 5.36% compared to previous close of $31.37.
