With Dell saying that the key theme for the company at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is 'mobility,' in laptops as well as in other devices, the company officials released an array of new and enhanced Alienware, Inspiron and Studio laptops - most of which are equipped with Intel's latest Core processors - on January 7.
Giving business users and consumers a peek at its new and future products, the Dell officials also used the CES platform to talk about the company's forthcoming Mini 3 smartphone for the US; and demonstrate a working prototype of a new 5-inch tablet device.
Both the Mini 3 and the tablet, to be launched later this year, will run on Google's Android.
Noting that the company is betting heavily on the ever-increasing consumer demand for smaller, mobile devices with Internet connectivity, Michael Tatelman - VP of sales and marketing in Dell's global consumer group - said: "We are focused on technology and solutions that help people connect and share content virtually anytime and anyplace."
Meanwhile, Dell's three new Alienware gaming systems include the 17-inch M17x; the 15-inch M15x laptop, and the M11x with HD resolution. The new Inspiron line includes 14, 15 and 17 laptops with thinner chassis, and Inspiron 580 and 580s, desktops; while the upgraded Studio systems include 14, 15, and 17 multimedia laptops, and the i5-inch chip equipped Studio XPS 8100 replacing the 8000.
