Lockheed Martin Corp. gets follow on contract worth $89.5 million

NYSE-listed Lockheed Martin Corp. has received an $89.5 million follow-on contract to do repair and maintenance work on sensors and other equipment on the Apache attack helicopter.

The original contract was awarded in early 2007 and was worth about $76.6 million to the company in 2008.

The contract provides complete post-production supply chain management, including spares planning, procurement, repairs, maintenance, modifications and inventory management of fielded systems.

Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin generates annual revenue of nearly $42 billion and employs 140,000 people worldwide, including more than 5,000 in Central Florida.

Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna is a research and development facility operated by KAPL Inc, a Lockheed Martin company. KAPL has 2,600 employees.

The scrip of Lockheed Martin was settled the day at $78.91 on NYSE. (Wednesday)
