When all other major manufacturers are experimenting to make the most of the lucrative smartphones market, maker of mobile devices, High Tech Computer also has some interesting plans up its sleeves. On Thursday, the company announced that it has plans on releasing a smartphone which would run on Qualcomm's Brew MP operating system, instead of either Windows Mobile or Android.
Christened the HTC Smart, the device has been designed to be more-user friendly and cost effective as compared to the other smartphones currently available, as confirmed by the company. Although the exact price for the set has not been released yet.
The Smart, like HTC's other handsets, includes the firm's Sense user interface, which can be easily customized by users, and other interesting features of the device include a 2.8 inch touchscreen and WCDMA network support.
Across Asia and Europe, the Smart will be released during the current year's first half. HTC has, however, not clarified if the phone would see a US release.
