Giant manufacturer of mobile handsets, Motorola launched its third Android mobile device at the CES, called the Backflip, which is an attractive and compact set, with some interesting hardware innovations and a user interface which focuses primarily on social networking feeds, e-mailing and contacts.
The Backflip boasts a 3.1-inch touchscreen and a full QWERTY physical keyboard, which is the unique part of the phone as it opens up in an unexpected way, a touch sensitive navigation panel on the back and a smartly placed mode that lets users position the phone on tabletop to allow it to act like an alarm clock.
“This is a phone with a great keyboard, a big screen and integration with social networking", said Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha, who unveiled the new device.
The phone is expected to go on sale during the first quarter of the current year. But the pricing of the phone has not been disclosed, and neither have there been any confirmations about the telecom operator who would be carrying the Backflip.
In addition to Google's Android platform, the phone has also been equipped with Motorola's customer MotoBlur social networking application.
