For very long, experts have been stressing that if there is one province that needs a wireless broadband real bad, it is Saskatchewan, mainly due to its landscape. And now, to effectively meet the requirements, SaskTel has stepped in.
The telecommunications services provider of the area has picked Nokia Siemens Network to help it provide core network technology, which would help SaskTel deploy a new next-generation wireless network across the area.
The Nokia-SaskTel agreement is a part of the company's network investment plan to make sure that at least 98% of Saskatchewan's residents have access to wireless broadband services.
Nokia Siemens Networks, experts have stressed, has the experience and the technology to help the telecom company reach its goals successfully. With millions of customers across 150 countries, it is the one of the largest communications hardware, software and services firms globally.
"Nokia Siemens Networks is committed to the Canadian market and its potential for further advancement in next-generation wireless services, so we are extremely pleased to add SaskTel to the distinguished group of operators we serve in Canada", said Sue Spradley, Head of the North American Region, Nokia Siemens Networks.
