For all those who had been wondering when AMD would finally get down to bringing out a more affordable version of its 5000 series of video cards, the wait is over. The company today released the ATI Radeon HD 5670 video card, which is equipped with all enhancements of the other cards available in the 5000 series, but comes with a price tag of a mere $99.
Like its more expensive counterparts, the 5670 boasts support for ATI's Eyefinity technology, which allows users to stretch their display over various monitors. In addition, the card equipped with ATI Stream and DirectX 11.
As far as specifications go, however, the 5670 is relatively low-key, coming in with 620 gigaflops of computing power, a core speed of 77 MHz, and it is fitted with 400 stream processors and 512 MB or 1GB of memory.
As of now, the card can support up-to three monitors, but reports are that further updates will take the capability to four displays.
AMD is still now giving out the complete details of the card, but users will be able to get their hands on it real soon.
