The Jawbone Icon – that’s the recently-unveiled fourth-generation model of Aliph’s blockbuster Jawbone Bluetooth headset! Focused chiefly on intelligent audio processing, the good-looking and great-sounding Jawbone Icon offers the users much more enhanced flexibility than any other Bluetooth headset, thanks to its industry-first software platform – MyTalk.
Aliph’s MyTalk software platform, which essentially is an operating system on a chip, enables the customization of an array of Audio and Dial “apps” after the plugging of the Icon into a computer. The soon-to-be-live mytalk. jawbone. com Web site will facilitate the plugging in of the headset via a USB cable – a process that the site will automatically detect.
Once the plugging in is complete, the Icon users can personalize various Audio apps that are basically the voice profiles of six different personalities - the Ace, the Hero, the Thinker, the Bombshell, the Rogue, the Catch, and a default that comes with the headset.
The wide-ranging voice profiles, which can be used for spoken alerts on the headset for announcing an incoming caller ID or the status of the headset’s battery and the like, would be available in English, French, German, or Spanish.
At a $99 retail cost, the Icon has already hit the Aliph Web site and the Verizon stores; and will soon become available at leading cell phone stores including Apple, AT&T, and Best Buy Mobile. Furthermore, in March, the Icon will become available internationally.
